Asymptopia Crossword Builder

Asymptopia Crossword Builder is a JavaScript education application that runs in any modern internet browser but does not require an internet connection.

The simple controls allow teachers or parents to create unlimited math crosswords, or supply their own word:hint pairs.

Support has recently been added for French, Spanish, pt-Brasillian, Kiswahili, and special characters (accents, tildes etc), in general. Some suggested uses include: cities, countries, lattitudes and longitudes to teach geography and spherical trig, simultaneously; Periodic table word:hint pairs; Language[i]:Language[j] word:hint pairs, for foreign language learning exercise; Terminology practice with virtually any other subject.

Use this calculator to work out the true/actual field of view when using a telescope eyepiece.

All telescope eyepieces have an apparent field of view, which is normally something like 50o or 60o. This information is normally supplied by the eyepiece manufacturer. The true/actual field of view is much smaller than this, and will be more like 0.5o to 2o. This is the area of the sky you will see when using a particular eyepiece in a particular telescope.

The application can be configured for addition, subtraction and multiplication. The number ranges can be configured, and the grid size can also be configured to suite your preference. Only the most important configuration variables are shown by default, the remainder being configurable by selecting the "ShowAll" toggle in the Administrator control panel.

There are no more user accounts, or separate administrator account. The data-recording functionality has also been removed in the interest of simplicity. The countdown timer is still there, however, to keep kids focused.

TUX Paint - Open Source Drawing Software for Children

Tux Paint is a free and open source bitmap graphics editor (a program for creating and processing raster graphics) geared towards young children (between 3 and 12 years old).

The project was started in 2002 by Bill Kendrick who continues to maintain and improve it, with help from numerous volunteers. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License.

Tux Paint combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program.
